From the director of The Sixith Sense this is another movie following up on the "weird, twist-ending" fame, which The Sixith Sense and Stir of Echoes scored on, both successfully, I think.
The movie starts off with some comic book statistics leaving you thinking, "What the fuck do comic books have to do with this movie?" Well, believe it or not, this movie, when finished, plays out almost entirely like a comic book. With a hero and a villian, both with their own strengths and weaknesses that fight it out on an unseen battleground. You see, Bruce Willis is an indestructable hero unseen to himself, until he meets Elijah (Samuel Jackson). Elijah has a bone problem where his bones break easily, almost upon impact and after falling down a set of stairs he is put into a weelchair for a few months until he recovers. He begins talking to Bruce Willis's character, after he is the only person to survive a train derailment accident. The two begin to realize Bruce Willis is unstoppable until they find his weakness. Water. He swallows water to fast and chokes on it. The ending suprised me a bit, but the whole movie is just making you think, "What is this even about?" It's a good rent but it's pretty boring all the way through. There's no real story, except Elijah's fascination with Bruce Willis which escalates in the end but it's really cheezy how they end paths.
Final Thoughts:
A good rent if you liked The Sixth Sense or Stir of Echoes. But rent it with caution, the story is cool, but for the most part weak.
